Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of SlatePDF at pdf.joverwk2026.org (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. The Service
SlatePDF provides browser-based tools to view, edit, create, protect, unlock, merge, split, compress and convert PDF files. Free tools are available without an account. SlatePDF Pro is a paid monthly subscription that unlocks additional features described on the Pricing page.
2. Accounts
You must provide a valid email address and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and at least 18 (or have a parent's permission) to purchase Pro.
3. Your documents
You keep all rights to your files. We claim no ownership and, for free tools, never receive them. You grant us only the limited, temporary right to process files you submit to Pro server tools in order to return the result to you.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- remove passwords or restrictions from documents you are not authorized to access or modify, or otherwise circumvent technical protection measures in violation of law;
- forge signatures, alter documents to deceive, or commit fraud;
- process content that infringes others' intellectual property or privacy, or is otherwise unlawful;
- overload, probe or disrupt the Service, or access it through automated means beyond normal personal use.
We may suspend accounts that violate these rules.
5. Pro subscription and billing
Pro is billed monthly in advance at the price shown at checkout ($7.99/month unless stated otherwise), through Stripe, and renews automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your Account page; Pro remains active until the end of the paid period and you will not be charged again. Before card billing is switched on, Pro may be offered in test mode: the checkout page is labeled “Test mode — no real charge”, no payment is collected, and the 30-day test period ends automatically unless you renew it. Test-mode access is provided as-is and may end when paid billing launches. We may change the price with at least 30 days' email notice before your next renewal. Refunds are described in the Refund policy.
6. Electronic signatures
The signature tool places an image of your drawn or typed signature on a PDF. Whether that signature is legally sufficient for a given document depends on the parties and applicable law (such as the federal ESIGN Act and state UETA laws). SlatePDF does not provide identity verification, audit trails or legal advice.
7. Free-use limits
Free tools may have daily usage and file-size limits, shown on each tool page. We may adjust free limits at any time.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". Keep a copy of your original files: we do not guarantee that every PDF will open, edit or convert correctly, and we cannot recover passwords you forget. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SlatePDF will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50 if you have not paid us.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, except where your local consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date and email account holders about material changes. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
